Kabir Narang, a founding general partner at B Capital and an early backer of several prominent Indian startups, has departed the global venture firm to establish a new investment platform. Slated for launch in 2026, the new venture will strategically focus on "compounding at the intersection of technology, AI, and global capital flows," according to a note shared with founders and reviewed by TechCrunch.

Narang's new platform aims to capitalize on what he describes as "one of the most profound technological revolutions in history." He emphasized the transformative power of AI, stating:

"AI scales thought itself, compressing the gap between idea and output. The founders who pair that speed with pricing power and improving unit economics will define the next generation of enduring value."

Beyond the new platform, Narang also revealed plans to take 1-2% personal stakes in companies he believes can "compound intelligently." This move indicates his continued active involvement in early-stage investing while developing the broader investment vehicle.

Narang's Tenure at B Capital

Having joined B Capital in March 2017, Narang was instrumental in co-leading the firm's Asia strategy from Singapore and chaired its global investment committee. During his tenure, he notably backed several successful Indian startups, including Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, and Bizongo.

B Capital confirmed Narang's exit to TechCrunch, acknowledging his contributions. A spokesperson stated:

"After more than eight years with the firm, Kabir Narang, who focused on later stage growth investing efforts in Asia, has left his role to pursue other opportunities. We are grateful for his contributions, and we wish him continued success in the future."

The firm also announced that Eduardo Saverin, Karan Mohla, and Howard Morgan will now manage its Asia portfolio, working alongside the existing team in South and Southeast Asia. B Capital reaffirmed its commitment to the region, with a spokesperson adding:

"B Capital remains deeply committed to our strategy in Asia and our broader global platform. With strong leadership and an experienced team across the region, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the next wave of innovation and continue backing category-defining companies across our core markets."
