Poe, Quora's comprehensive AI platform that integrates various artificial intelligence models, has officially rolled out a new group chat feature. The company announced on Monday that users worldwide can now initiate group conversations with up to 200 participants, enabling them to collaborate across more than 200 diverse AI models—including text, image, video, and audio generators—all within a single, unified conversation.

This strategic launch comes just days after OpenAI's ChatGPT began piloting similar group chat capabilities in markets such as Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. The introduction of group functionality is poised to transform the traditional one-on-one AI interaction into a dynamic, collaborative space where users can engage with friends, family, or colleagues alongside advanced AI.

Quora emphasizes that the addition of group chats to Poe will unlock new types of interactive experiences for AI users. For example, families or friends could utilize the feature to collaboratively plan a trip, leveraging the search capabilities of models like Gemini 2.5 and o3 Deep Research. Teams might work together to brainstorm images for mood boards using the various image generation models available on Poe, while groups could play trivia games powered by one of the dedicated quiz bots on the app.

The group chat functionality supports a wide array of AI models and creator-made bots. Users can combine tools such as Claude 4.5 Sonnet, Eleven Labs v3, Eleven Labs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, and Veo 3.1, among many others, for their collaborative tasks.

Poe users can easily start a group chat from the app's home screen or directly on the website at poe.com. A key convenience feature is the real-time synchronization of chat history across all devices, ensuring that users can seamlessly transition conversations from a desktop to a mobile device without losing context.

Quora developed this feature over the past six months and plans to continuously enhance group chats in the coming weeks, driven by user feedback. In its announcement, the company shared, "We think the space of potential group interactions mediated by AI and collaboration opportunities with AI is vast and currently under-explored." They further highlighted that the product allows anyone to create a custom bot on Poe and share it for others to use in their own groups, expressing excitement to see the diverse use cases that emerge from the community.
