Samsung has announced plans to integrate Google Photos directly into its smart televisions, with the feature expected to roll out in 2026. This move will allow users to enjoy their cherished photos and videos on the big screen without the need for casting from other devices or sideloading the application.
The initial version of the Google Photos integration will focus on the popular "Memories" feature, which curates and displays personalized photo and video collections. Samsung confirmed that this "Memories" functionality will be exclusive to its TVs for a period of six months following its launch. To access their media, users will simply need to sign in to their Google accounts on their Samsung smart TV.
Looking ahead, Samsung also intends to enhance the Google Photos experience on its TVs with advanced AI-powered capabilities. These future features include templates powered by Nano Banana, AI image generation and editing tools, and the innovative Remix feature, which enables users to transform existing photos into various artistic styles.
"Google Photos is a home for people's photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life. We're excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs – helping people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways," said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos and Google One, in a statement.
