Arc Launches Coast: Its Most Affordable Electric Boat
Arc, the electric boat startup, has unveiled its most affordable model yet: the Arc Coast. Priced at $168,000, the Coast is available for pre-order, with shipping expected in 2026.
Center Console Design for Versatility
The Arc Coast is a center console boat, a design often favored for fishing and versatile water activities. This is Arc's third model, following the limited edition Arc One ($300,000) and the Arc Sport ($268,000).
The Coast utilizes the same 226kWh battery pack as the Sport, providing a range of four to five hours, depending on speed and usage. With 400 horsepower, the Coast can reach speeds up to 50 mph and accommodate up to 10 passengers.
Key Differences and Features
The primary difference between the Coast and the Sport, besides price, is the layout. The center console design allows for more freedom of movement around the boat. The Coast maintains the high-quality fit and finish of Arc's other models, with a focus on minimalist yet informative software on the console screens.
Arc is also developing an electric tugboat for the Port of Los Angeles, furthering its mission to electrify all watercraft.
Benefits of Electric Boating
Electric boats offer several advantages over traditional gas-powered boats, including:
- No fumes
- No winterization
- Reduced noise
These benefits, combined with the Coast's innovative design and features, may justify its price tag for environmentally conscious boaters.
