While Ottogrid will sunset its current product, Omar assured customers of ample notice and a smooth transition period.

In a statement, Omar expressed enthusiasm about joining Cohere and integrating Ottogrid's technology into Cohere's platform. He believes this integration will significantly impact how businesses automate workflows, enrich data, and scale operations.

This acquisition follows reports of Cohere falling short of its 2023 revenue projections. However, Cohere recently announced reaching $100 million in annualized revenue, driven by a strategic focus on private AI deployments in sectors like healthcare, government, and finance.

Ottogrid's Background and Capabilities

Founded in 2023 as Cognosys, the company rebranded to Ottogrid in 2024. The platform features a "native table interface" with AI-powered document analysis, allowing users to extract website data directly into spreadsheets and enrich sales leads. Ottogrid raised $2 million in venture capital from investors including GV (Google Ventures), Untapped Capital, and Cohere co-founders.

As part of Cohere, Ottogrid's technology will primarily support North, Cohere's new ChatGPT-style application designed for knowledge workers. North assists with tasks like document summarization, further enhancing Cohere's AI capabilities.
