David Droga Steps Down as Accenture Song CEO
David Droga will step down as CEO of Accenture Song at the end of the company's fiscal year. He will transition to the role of Vice Chair at Accenture. Droga led Song since 2021, overseeing significant growth and the unification of various agencies under the Song brand.
During his tenure, Song's annual revenue increased from $12.5 billion to $19 billion. Droga is credited with establishing Song's brand and operating model, integrating creative, design, and AI capabilities.
Ndidi Oteh Appointed New CEO
Ndidi Oteh, currently Song's lead in the Americas, will become CEO on September 1st. Oteh is a longtime Accenture veteran and will also join the company's Global Management Committee (GMC). Nick Law will be elevated to strategy and experience lead and join the GMC as well.
Droga's departure comes at a challenging time for creative agencies. The industry faces disruptions from generative AI, fragmented media, and budget constraints. Accenture's acquisition of Droga5 in 2019 signaled a significant investment in creativity. However, Droga5 has faced challenges, including staff layoffs and increased competition.
Droga expressed his excitement about the transition in a statement:
“After 30 plus years of leaping, I am ready to catch my breath. Being Vice Chair will allow me to contribute in new ways. I am excited to spend more time thinking, advising, and exploring.”
This leadership change marks a new chapter for Accenture Song as it navigates the evolving marketing landscape.
