Google Launches AI Video Tool "Flow" at I/O 2025

Google announced its new AI-powered video creation tool, Flow, at the Google I/O 2025 developer conference. This innovative tool utilizes a combination of Google's powerful AI models: Veo for video generation, Imagen for image generation, and Gemini for text and prompting.

Flow allows users to import existing characters and scenes or create new ones within the tool. Similar to Google's VideoFX, launched last year, Flow aims to provide accessible video generation capabilities to a broader audience.

Flow offers a range of features, including:

  • Camera control for adjusting angles and views
  • A scene builder for editing and extending shots
  • Asset management tools

Google is also launching "Flow TV," a curated stream showcasing user-created videos and the prompts used to generate them. This provides valuable insights into the creative process and inspires other users.

Several startups, such as Moonvalley, D-ID, Cheehoo, and Hedra, are also developing AI video solutions. With Flow, Google demonstrates its commitment to expanding into the application layer of AI video generation.

Initially, Flow will be available in the U.S. to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra users. Pro users will have access to 100 generations per month. Ultra users will receive a higher, yet-to-be-determined limit, and access to Google's latest video models.
