Heron Power Raises $38M Series A for Next-Gen Grid Transformers

Heron Power, a startup focused on revolutionizing electrical grid technology, has secured $38 million in Series A funding. Founded by former Tesla executive Drew Baglino, the company is developing solid-state transformers designed to be more efficient and compact than traditional models.

Transformers play a vital role in the electrical grid, managing voltage as electricity flows through the system. Heron Power is concentrating on medium-voltage transformers, which have broad applications ranging from large substations to residential power distribution.

These solid-state transformers promise to improve grid responsiveness and reliability. The company plans to begin initial installations in early 2027 and is collaborating with major energy and data center developers.
