TikTok Enhances Content Control with AI-Powered Filters
TikTok is rolling out AI-powered Smart Keyword Filters to give users more control over their For You page. This new feature builds upon existing keyword filters by using AI to identify and filter content containing similar keywords and synonyms.
For example, if you filter "remodeling," TikTok will also filter content related to "renovation" and "renovations." Users will soon be able to select or deselect specific related keywords for even finer control.
Expanded Keyword Limits and Topic Management
TikTok is also increasing the number of keywords users can add from 100 to 200 and simplifying bulk addition. The platform expects Smart Keyword Filtering to become more precise with increased usage.
Additionally, TikTok's "Manage Topics" feature, previously in pilot testing, is now globally available. This allows users to adjust the frequency of specific topics, such as sports, travel, humor, current affairs, dance, and food, appearing in their For You feed.
To access this feature, navigate to Settings, select "Content Preferences," and then click "Manage Topics." Use the slider to customize the amount of specific content types you see.
TikTok is also launching a new educational guide to help users understand and configure their For You feed settings.
