Amazon Music Unveils AI-Powered "Explore" Feature for Deeper Artist Discovery

Amazon Music is testing a new AI-powered search feature called "Explore." This feature aims to enhance music discovery by providing fans with deeper insights into their favorite artists.

Users can access "Explore" by tapping "Find" and searching for an artist. The "Explore" tab then reveals information about the artist, including collaborations, related artists, and key discography highlights.

How "Explore" Works

For example, searching for Jelly Roll might highlight his duet "Save Me" with Lainey Wilson. The feature also promotes Amazon Music's original content, such as Jelly Roll's exclusive cover of "Should've Been A Cowboy" featuring T-Pain.

Users can also create AI-generated playlists through "Explore." This integrates with Amazon Music's AI DJ, Maestro, launched last year as a competitor to Spotify's AI DJ. This integration encourages wider adoption of Maestro's AI playlist functionality.

Availability and Future Plans

"Explore" is currently rolling out to select Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers in the US on iOS. The beta is initially limited to 10,000 artists, including Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK.

This new feature arrives after Amazon's recent price increase for Music Unlimited. By offering enhanced discovery tools, Amazon aims to provide added value to subscribers.
