Google Workspace Supercharged with New AI Features
At Google I/O 2025, Google unveiled a suite of AI-powered enhancements coming to Workspace apps, including Gmail, Docs, and Vids. These updates promise to boost productivity and streamline workflows.
Gmail Gets Smarter
Gmail is receiving personalized smart replies that tailor suggestions to your writing style and context. By analyzing past emails and Google Drive data, the feature offers relevant responses, eliminating the need to search through files. Whether your tone is formal or conversational, smart replies will adapt accordingly.

A new inbox cleanup feature powered by Gemini lets you easily manage unwanted emails. Simply instruct Gemini to delete or archive specific messages, like "Delete all unread emails from The Groomed Paw from last year."

Scheduling appointments with external contacts is also simplified. Gemini detects when you're arranging a meeting and suggests available times, reducing back-and-forth communication.
These Gmail features will be generally available in the coming months.
Docs Gains Contextual Writing Assistance
In Google Docs, you can now link relevant decks, data, and reports directly into your document. Gemini will use these linked sources to provide more focused and contextually accurate writing assistance, ensuring your work is based on trusted information. This feature is available now.
Vids Transforms Content Creation
Google Vids is gaining the ability to convert Google Slides presentations into engaging videos. Gemini can assist with script generation, voiceovers, animations, and more, making it easy to create videos for sales decks, quarterly reviews, and other presentations. This feature will be generally available in a few months.

For businesses lacking video resources, Vids is introducing AI avatars to deliver messages professionally. Simply write a script and select an avatar to present it in a polished video format. This feature will be available in Google Labs next month.
Additional Vids updates include a "transcript trim" tool to remove filler words and a "balance sound" feature to adjust audio levels across videos. "Balance sound" will be generally available next month, while "transcript trim" will be available in Labs in a few months.
Enhanced Visuals with Imagen 4
Google Workspace will also integrate Imagen 4, its latest image-generating model. This will empower users to create more detailed and compelling visuals across Slides, Vids, Docs, and other applications.
