Litehaus Secures €1.46M Pre-Seed to Revolutionize Home Building

Frustrated by their own challenging home-building experience, Thibault and Simi Launay launched Litehaus, a platform designed to simplify and streamline the construction process. The company recently announced a €1.46 million pre-seed funding round led by Cornerstone VC, with participation from Explorer Fund, Claster Group, and angel investor Pascal Levy.

Simplifying Construction with Technology

Litehaus aims to be the "Uber of construction" by connecting landowners and property developers with architects, contractors, interior designers, and other construction professionals. The platform enables users to track costs, manage schedules, and monitor building progress in real-time. Focusing on modular construction, Litehaus promises homes built 30% cheaper, 40% faster, and 60% more sustainably than traditional methods.

This approach results in significant environmental benefits, including 90% less waste and 50% less CO2 emissions. Litehaus joins other companies in the modular construction space, including Ginosko Modular, Flummerfelt, and Schnelle Prefabs.

Addressing the European Housing Crisis

With a growing presence in Europe and at least one U.S. construction company in its network, Litehaus aims to tackle the housing shortage and rising costs across the continent. The company's vision resonates with investors like Rodney Appiah, Managing Partner at Cornerstone VC:

The shortage of housing across Europe has triggered a crisis. Litehaus's vision is to make building a home as simple as buying one, bringing greater transparency, sustainability, quality, and trust to the process.

From Personal Experience to Startup Success

The Launays' personal experience with construction delays and budget overruns fueled their desire to create a better solution. Thibault, a serial entrepreneur, and Simi, a consultant and founder, bring a wealth of experience to Litehaus. Thibault focuses on fundraising, business development, and technology, while Simi leads marketing, communication, and design.

The pre-seed funding will be used to scale the platform and expand the team in engineering, product, marketing, and operations. Ironically, the Launays will finally move into their own home next month, after a 14-month delay, highlighting the very problem Litehaus is striving to solve.
