Ulili Onovakpuri Departs Kapor Capital
Ulili Onovakpuri, Managing Partner at Kapor Capital, announced her departure from the firm after more than ten years. Onovakpuri shared the news in a LinkedIn post, reflecting on her journey from Principal to Managing Partner.
During her tenure, Onovakpuri played a key role in the firm's growth. She helped raise a $126 million fund and supported over 70 companies. She co-led the firm alongside Brian Dixon, taking over from founders Mitch Kapor and Freada Kapor Klein.
A Purposeful Pause
While Onovakpuri expressed her gratitude for her time at Kapor Capital, she described her departure as a "purposeful pause." She indicated that she intends to remain involved in the venture capital ecosystem, though she has no immediate plans.
This isn’t a goodbye to investing or to funding the founders building critical solutions. But it is a purposeful pause.
Onovakpuri joined Kapor Capital over a decade ago as a Principal and steadily rose through the ranks. Her contributions have significantly impacted the firm and the startups it supports. While her next steps remain undisclosed, she assures the venture world hasn't seen the last of her.
