Meta Enhances Marketing and Graph APIs for Improved Ad Management
Meta has announced key updates to its Marketing and Graph APIs, designed to streamline ad creation and management for Facebook and Instagram marketers. These updates offer improved content monetization insights and greater budget flexibility.
Content Monetization Metrics
A new "content_monetization_earnings" metric allows creators enrolled in Content Monetization programs to track earnings at the page or post level. This metric provides a customizable timeframe and a breakdown of earnings by content type at the page level. Additionally, a "monetization_approximate_earnings" metric offers estimated earnings for both pages and individual content pieces. This enables third-party platforms to integrate content monetization data, providing more comprehensive insights for creators.
Graph API and Budget Flexibility
The Graph API update expands daily budget flexibility from 25% to 75% for Meta Ads Manager accounts. This allows Meta to optimize ad spend based on performance opportunities, spending up to 75% more than the daily budget on some days and less on others. Weekly spending will not exceed seven times the daily budget. For campaigns shorter than seven days, the total spend won't exceed the daily budget multiplied by the campaign duration.
Advantage+ and Ad Copies API Enhancements
Meta is expanding Advantage+ features, enabling advertisers using ad networks to leverage AI-powered ad tools. New age and gender parameters allow reaching users outside preferred audience settings for potential performance gains. A new "videos" field for catalog ingestion simplifies adding video content. The Ad Copies API now allows editing key creative parameters like title, link URL, body text, and more when duplicating ads.
Impact for Marketers
While these updates are primarily technical, they significantly impact marketers using Meta's APIs directly or through third-party platforms. These enhancements offer more control and efficiency in managing Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns.
