RXBar Launches "B.S. Feed Filter" Chrome Extension to Combat Corporate Jargon
RXBar has released a new Google Chrome extension called the "B.S. Feed Filter" to remove corporate jargon from social media feeds. This extension is part of the brand's ongoing "Proud Sponsor of No B.S." campaign.
The B.S. Feed Filter scans social media feeds for common corporate buzzwords, such as "disruptor" and "move the needle," and blocks posts containing them. RXBar encourages users to submit their most disliked jargon phrases for inclusion in future updates to the extension.
Extension Aligns with Brand's "No B.S." Platform
This initiative builds on RXBar's established brand platform of authenticity and transparency, reflected in the simple ingredient lists on its product packaging. The "No B.S." campaign previously targeted unrealistic New Year's resolutions with a similar marketing effort.
A promotional video depicts office workers surrounded by a flurry of jargon-filled social media posts. The video highlights phrases like "catalyze transformation" and "move the needle," which RXBar considers to be corporate buzzwords.
Posts flagged by the extension are covered with an RXBar-branded overlay stating, "This post contains B.S., so we filtered it from your feed."
RXBar has a history of challenging trends it perceives as inauthentic. The brand recently escalated its "No B.S." marketing efforts by asking New Yorkers to identify ads promoting unrealistic resolutions and then dispatched a branded truck to cover them.
This innovative marketing approach could help RXBar stand out in the increasingly competitive protein and better-for-you snack bar market.
Other brands have also used browser extensions for marketing. Cheetos released a font extension earlier this year designed to mimic messy handwriting.
