Snapchat Testing My AI Chatbot Unpinning
Snapchat is experimenting with unpinning its My AI chatbot from the top of users' chat feeds. This change depends on individual user engagement with the AI feature.
Launched in 2023, My AI provides an in-app AI assistant to answer user queries. The initial rollout placed My AI at the top of every user's chat feed. While usage has been substantial, some users found the pinned placement disruptive.

Currently, only Snapchat+ subscribers can remove My AI from their chat feed. However, Snap is testing new display options based on usage. Inactive users may soon see My AI disappear from their inbox, although it will remain accessible.
Increased User Control
This change aims to give users more control over their Snapchat experience. While many users engage with My AI (over 500 million out of Snapchat's 900 million monthly active users), this update caters to those who prefer a less cluttered chat feed.
Essentially, Snapchat will use an initial period to gauge user interest. If a user doesn't interact with My AI, the app will likely hide it.
While Snap hasn't announced a timeline for these changes, they have confirmed ongoing testing and exploration of these options. This explains why some users may already notice My AI missing from their inbox.
