TikTok Introduces AI-Powered Image Animation for Stories
TikTok has launched a new AI-powered feature called "AI Alive," allowing users to animate still images directly within their TikTok Stories.
This feature transforms static photos into short-form videos using intelligent editing tools and creative effects. Users can access "AI Alive" through the Story Camera by tapping the blue "+" icon on their Inbox or Profile page and selecting a photo from their Story Album.
TikTok aims to take visual storytelling further. With "AI Alive," creators can easily animate photos and tell richer, more visually engaging stories.
After posting, AI Alive Stories are visible in the For You and Following feeds, as well as on the user's profile.
How AI Alive Works
The "AI Alive" feature utilizes AI to add movement and atmospheric effects to still images, creating dynamic video content. While results may vary, TikTok aims for high-quality animations that enhance storytelling.
This new tool offers another creative option for TikTok users, alongside existing filters and effects. While similar tools exist on other platforms, TikTok's "AI Alive" integrates seamlessly into the Story creation process.
Interestingly, Instagram is also developing similar AI animation functionality for its video editing app, "Edits." This move by TikTok could be a strategic response to Instagram's replication of its video editing platform.
