TikTok Introduces Guided Meditations for Better Sleep
TikTok now offers in-app guided meditation exercises to promote healthy sleep habits and discourage excessive late-night scrolling. The feature, previously tested with teens, is now available to all users.
Promoting Healthy Sleep for Teens
For users under 18, the meditation feature is enabled by default. After 10 PM, a guided meditation will interrupt their For You feed, encouraging them to wind down. The meditation includes a calming screen, soft music, and breathing exercises.
If a teen continues using the app after the initial prompt, a second full-screen message will further encourage them to prioritize sleep.
Meditation Options for Adults
Adult users can enable the meditation feature through the Screen Time settings. Simply toggle on the "sleep hours" feature and set a preferred time for the meditation exercise.
TikTok's Commitment to Mental Health
This new feature is part of TikTok's ongoing efforts to address concerns about the app's impact on younger users. TikTok is also donating $2.3 million in ad credits to 31 mental health organizations worldwide as part of its Mental Health Education Fund.

This initiative follows other teen safety features introduced by TikTok in recent years. It reflects the company's commitment to digital wellbeing and responsible app usage.
